Welcome to Crystals for Kids with Crafts!
This week I'm talking about a few ways kids can get creative with crystals and suggest a few other mindful activities for them to try.
Can kids make things for themselves with crystals? What supplies would be needed?
Can kids make things for themselves with crystals? What supplies would be needed?
Absolutely! Crystals can make great crafting materials that kids can use to create beautiful projects.
Depending on the project, you will need some basic supplies like glue, wire, pliers, and beads. The length of time it takes to create something will vary depending on the project, but it is usually a fun and rewarding process.
You could start with something quite simple like threading crystal beads on a piece of elastic and build up to things like key rings and jewellery with clasps. Or why not try gluing crystal chips into a painting for mixed media? Just let the imagination roam!
What things can kids make with crystals that have additional properties such as dreamcatchers?
What things can kids make with crystals that have additional properties such as dreamcatchers?
Kids can make lots of creative and fun items with crystals that have special properties.
Dreamcatchers are a great way to incorporate the energy of crystals into a craft project. A simple dreamcatcher can be made with a hoop, string, feathers, and a crystal. Kids can decorate the hoop with ribbons, beads, and other decorations.
Another craft project that kids can make with crystals is a wind chime. Crystals are suspended from the chime to create a beautiful sound when the wind blows.
For larger pieces, kids can create a sun catcher by attaching crystals to a piece of string and then hanging it in a sunny window. The crystals will sparkle and reflect the light in a beautiful way.
How can kids meditate with crystals?
How can kids meditate with crystals?
Kids can meditate with crystals in a few different ways.
First, they can pick a crystal that they feel drawn to and hold it in their hand while they focus on their breathing. They can also place the crystal in front of them and close their eyes and focus on the energy radiating from the crystal.
Additionally, kids can set up a meditation altar with the crystal in the middle and then sit in front of it and use it as a focus point for their meditation session.
What could kids create a crystal altar with?
What could kids create a crystal altar with?
Kids can create a crystal altar with a variety of items, including a cloth for an altar base, crystals and gemstones, candles, incense, statues, charms, and other meaningful objects.
Depending on the age of the child and their interests, they could also include items like artwork, jewelry, books, and other meaningful items. A friend of mine's child has a safe space behind a Kallax unit and his crystals and other loved objects sit on the shelves and he sits on hos bean bag behind them.
It's important to remember to create a safe and comfortable space for the child, so that they can focus on their positive intentions and create an environment that will bring them peace and harmony.
What other mindful activities can kids be involved in?
What other mindful activities can kids be involved in?
Mindful activities for kids can help them focus and reduce stress. Some activities include:
- yoga
- meditation
- deep breathing
- drawing or coloring
- journaling
- listening to relaxing music
- playing instruments
- and stretching.
Additionally, kids can practice mindfulness by going on nature walks and focusing on the sounds, sights, and smells around them. Gardening, playing board games, and being mindful of their eating habits are also helpful activities.
I hope you have found this useful and it's given you some ideas to try with your kids.
